Shield Knot

The Shield Knot is an ancient Celtic symbol with four equal distinct corners and interwoven design, often depicted as a square or circle of interlacing pattern, forming an unbroken loop. The structure represents eternity, continuing and unity. 

The Shield Knot was used as protection against evil spirits, illness and misfortune, making it a mark of strength and unity. 

Hand Stitched using báinín coloured 100% cotton thread on black Aida, in a black 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) Black Frame with white mount, free standing or wall mounted.
