Sara Roberts Ceramics

Sara Roberts is a ceramicist living and working on the south coast of Cork. With a long design background, attention to imagery, form and presentation, comes naturally to her. She enjoys the challenge of portraying her immediate environment through creating images from their constituent parts. These include earth (clay), sand (glaze) and rocks (pigments). Her inspiration comes particularly from the sea. On thin porcelain slabs she aims to capture the sense of quiet isolation found along shorelines, the allure of the ever-changing textures and colours on stretches of beach and the energy found in crashing waves.
