Diana Skalkos is a Cork born maker. She honed her craft through studies at Chelsea College and Westminster University in London, where she delved deep into the realms of ceramics and sculpture. Her work, exhibited internationally, explores the deep bond between humans and nature. Inspired by her untamed childhood in the Irish countryside, she evokes nostalgic, dreamlike memories shaped by native flora and wildlife. Her work reflects barefoot adventures, faithful dogs, and scraped knees amid daisies, primroses, and ferns—elements once overlooked but now central to her creative outlook. Blending memory with imagination, Skalkos creates a vivid, emotive viewpoint, where reality and fantasy merge, inviting viewers to reconnect with the natural world and the connections to those who walked it before us.
