The process of felting is one of the oldest forms of textile art which involves the matting of colored woolen fibers together. In the case of needle felting, the technique involves pushing the fibers back and forth using a sharp needle with barbs along the shaft. The sharp barbs on the needle catch the fibers and eventually lock them in place. It is a long and meditative process.
About 90% of the wool used is locally sourced, washed and carded by hand, and then dyed using natural plant materials.
