Part Time Retail Team Lead

Cork Craft and Design is a vibrant collective of Cork-based Makers and Crafters. We are expanding and now seeking a part time retail team lead who works closely with our Managing Director to oversee operations for 16 hours on 2 designated days per week. 

 

PURPOSE OF ROLE


To work as part of the Cork Craft and Design team, you'll have a specific focus coordinating with our Makers on their inventory management and promotion of the Cork Craft and Design brand.

Providing a welcoming and memorable environment to our visitors, offering excellent customer service, ensuring that all customers leave with a positive experience. Deal directly with Makers through accepting deliveries of new work, pricing displaying, selling and stock management across our outlets. Providing additional support to the Managing Director with administrative duties including relevant Maker training. This role has the potential to grow into a full-time position for the ideal candidate.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Providing excellent customer service
• Till duties and cash handling
• Stock maintenance
• Deal with customer enquiries over the phone, by email and through our social channels
• Visual merchandising
• Acquire and maintain excellent knowledge of the Craft displayed in Cork Craft and Design
• Providing support to Cork Craft and Design for programming and exhibitions (occasional evening work)
• Providing support in social media / marketing
• General cleaning duties
• Providing support retail set up and take down
• Adhere to the organisation’s policies and procedures at all times
• Other duties as required.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA


• At least one year’s experience of working in a retail / customer focused environment.
• Exceptional customer service skills;
• Proficiency in English;
• Good numeracy and attention to detail;
• Professional working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Apple & Google Applications;
• Good attendance and punctuality;
• Be a team player;
• Have a positive and flexible approach to work;
• Be available to work weekends and evenings if required;
• Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland.



DESIREABLE CRITERIA

 

• Knowledge and understanding of the contemporary craft sector on the island of Ireland
• Experience using E-Commerce Systems such as Wordpress or Shopify
• Experience in an administrative role
• Excellent photography skills
• Experience of social media content creation
